Description: Another lost gem from everyone's favorite cross-dressing director, Ed Wood!  TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE is just waiting for a complete version and full restoration to be released on digital media, but in the meantime, Something Weird Video provides the next best thing - 70 minutes of outtakes from this long lost schlock classic!

One of Ed Wood's final productions, TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE is a sex film that consists of footage discovered by archivists and assembled to make some sort of sense. No audio track was found, so basically all you see are several outtakes and scenes from the movie, set to instrumental music. An ugly guy rolls around with some girls, there's a homosexual couple, and Ed Wood is seen playing the character of a woman.

Naked chicks and Ed Wood in drag.  What else can you ask for?  Well, the full movie would be great for starters.  But unfortunately, this is one of Ed's lost films (although there are some who claim this isn't actually a lost film and that at least one print exists - but it has never surfaced anywhere that I am aware of, so it's lost enough for me).  But what we have here is the next best thing, 70 minutes of outtakes, re-takes, alternate scenes and bloopers from Ed's 1970 porn film debut, discovered during the 1990's in a Santa Monica movie theater.  Thanks to our friends at Something Weird Video, these outtakes were released on VHS in 1995, and then later as a DVD-R which is what you will find here.

TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE was filmed in 2 days in a private home in Lakewood, CA.  This was Ed's first directorial job since THE SINISTER URGE 10 years earlier, and was his first foray into porn movies.  As the story goes, Ed met some guys at one of the clubs he frequented who wanted to get their hands on some porno films.  Ed talked them into financing him to make one for them instead (and promised them some scenes that they could cut out for their "private collections").  The film is rumored to have made it's world premiere in a topless bar in L.A. and to have played L.A.'s Pussycat Theater circuit.

According to Ed's widow Kathy, she and Ed were in the process of losing their home when this movie was made.  "It was a cute little film which he cut and edited in his den on a movieola.  It kept me up all night, practically.  He used some of our neighbors, Kennie Duncan's old girlfriend Nona Carver.  She played an old whore.  He wasn't really making any money out of it, and he never did."

Star Nona Carver said that just like NECROMANIA, there were two versions of TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE made; a softcore version and a hardcore version.  "He had a couple of faggots in it," according to Nona.  "I played the part of a madam.  I was supposed to be on the needle, running around in a little baby doll outfit.  In the film, this guy comes in, starts beating me up, and I scream and plead and cry.  Evidentally, it sounded so real the police came!  That was kind of a big joke."

There, she met and befriended 3 film school students who were making a documentary about the porn industry. Apparently she disappeared immediately after filming wrapped [I Assume she took a shower first], and one of the documentary film-makers shows up the day after her disappearance with blood on his clothes. [Stay with me, now...] The real-life film-maker's of this insomnia-remedy shot the entire movie without a script, having signed releases that they wouldn't allude to any actual events, people, or conversations! Gee, what could possibly go wrong in that scenario? Yup, everything that possibly could...This isn't a horror movie, found-footage movie, or even a movie...Its really the dailies of the dramatic re-enactment  segments for a documentary that has yet to be made about some dumb bitch who may or may not have disappeared after shooting a porn! Yawn. Two fun facts to ponder while watching this travesty: 1) It cost a million dollars to make this! 2) The film-makers thank 'god' in the end credits for 'making them so creative.' Wow! Can we blame 'god' then for making this? 'God' needs to use a script next time...This makes 'Blair Witch' seem professional and well-thought-out!

Description of Malefic: The storyline goes like this: Four criminals attempt the unthinkable -- ransoming the corpse of a dead child back to the family. But things take an even darker turn when they find an old spirit board at the cabin they are using for a hide-out.
Now I need to mention that the four criminals are as 'Goth' as you can get. So if you like the Goth subculture, especially those hot goth women who like to show full frontal, then this flick has you in mind. On the other hand, if too much Goth makes you cringe with 'get a life loser' sentiments, I defer to the fully frontal nudity.
Still, it is a entertaining little flick with a mix of elements from Witchboard, Evil Dead, The Blair Witch (in this case, the Hobb's Witch) and maybe a touch of your Resivoir Dogs crime flick (or rather maybe a touch of a movie that tried for that Resivoir Dogs crime flick vibe).

Description: A talk radio host has his last night on the air with his show about scary things. Usually he takes calls from listeners about what scares them. But tonight, he decides to tell four stories himself instead.

The first, Painting After Midnight, is about a painter who hires women to paint. But something happens at midnight while he is painting them. He decides to take on a roommate, who starts to wonder what is going on with the painting. He catches her going through his things and ties her up to paint her. But the plan backfires and soon she is the artist waiting for midnight.

The second story, Fair Scare, is about two brothers who rob an armored car for millions. When they get home to one of the brother's wife, the arguments about how to divide the money start. The wife tries to seduce the other brother in order to get more of the money, but he tells his brother. The husband is forced to take care of his wife and dispose of her. But she soon comes back to make both the brothers pay for how they treated her.

In the third story, Office Case, a security officer is hired for a night watch. Throughout his watch, the misdeeds of his past begin to come to him and he has nowhere to hide. He alleges to have only one regret from his past, but this one regret is the one he cannot live with.

The last story, Worth The Wait, is the story of a couple that need to get rid of the other woman in his life before they can go on with their lives. She has a great idea about how to do it because she watches all those crime shows. But he has trouble getting it done and she has to wait and wait. While waiting, she begins to wonder if he is really going to go through with it and a visit by the ghost of the other woman scares her to death.

The radio host is visited at the end by fan who comes to collect unpaid bills. What the collector doesn't remember is that the stories always end with a twist.

Description: In all seriousness, this is the best movie I saw in 2015. It had all the stuff I like: gore, female nudity, torture, female full frontal nudity, an interesting plot with some mind-crushing twists, a decent soundtrack, good-looking nude women, splatter, a very menacing antagonist, done by a director whose work I consistently like: Her Name Was Torment, Fantacide, Bath Salt Zombies, Zombie A-Hole, Easter Casket, Skinless, and there might be more here....The plot seems simple at first: a lunatic is stalking, torturing, and killing beautiful women. But this movie has a few surprises that will leave you wanting to watch it again and wishing it was about twice as long. The music soundtrack is surprisingly effective. Overall, a must-see exploitation that really is the most fun I had watching anything this year! Watch it; then watch it again!!

Description: After a jilted lover (Tom Rolfing) kills his ex-bride-to-be, he decides justice has not been served and decides that all women preparing for their upcoming nuptials need to meet the sharp end of his knife. The killer has arrived in a new town looking for Amy (Caitlin O’Heaney) and her wedding party to make perfect, voluptuous targets in his sick revenge. Amy’s spotted our killer, but everyone just laughs it off as getting cold feet. Can her ex-boyfriend, Marvin (Don Scardino), get her to dump the groom and save her from the clutches of a madman? Oh, Marvin! My hero!

Defying convention was never the slasher genre’s strong suit, so why start with He Knows You're Alone? It’s a simple story taken from the pages of the master, John Carpenter, but with a small twist – the killer’s face is never concealed (although he remains quite frightening). Perhaps it’s because of those similarities to Halloween that He Knows has never been a darling of the critics, or many die hard fans for that matter, but I still have a soft spot for this nice little thriller. Most detractors of it hate the fact that it’s a basic road map of Halloween but some of us dig the minimalist plot and the chemistry between the two leads. Don Scardino makes Marvin a decent and likable fellow and Caitlin O’Heaney is good as Amy. Lest we forget, this was also Tom Hanks’ first film. He only shows up in two scenes, but you can see his star quality shining.

He Knows has some great set pieces too. The opening scene spins a clever movie within a movie yarn and eagle eyed horror geeks will notice that’s Russell Todd from Chopping Mall and Friday the 13th Part 2 hanging over the car! Blink and you might miss James Carroll from Girls Nite Out in another scene. Yes, there’s a virtual cornucopia of horror references to be had during just one viewing! Now who could say no to that?

Director Armand Mastroianni knew how to keep the bodycount rolling. The best scene in the film features the curvy Elizabeth Kemp sitting with her back to the camera, listening to a pop ballad on headphones and toking it up as our killer watches. Remember when girls were curvaceous? Those were good days! There’s also a terrific close-to-death reaction from the put-upon final girl who plays it like a real person in her situation would – she freaks out! And big time! The horror at what may happen to her is palpable and creates a great sense of fear during the final chase scene.

So while He Knows is by no means a groundbreaking film it is entertaining and harkens back to the day when films of this ilk had yet to be considered contrived. So take your shoes off, kick back and let the killing begin!
